Medical Transcriptionists are the "Keys" to a Successful Business! For those of you who are wondering what is a medical transcriptionist, we are the ones that listen to the doctors dictate on their patients while they eat, yawn, talk on their phones, chew gum, rattle xrays, etc. and then transcribe what they say to produce documentation for the health record that is precise and accurate. With transcriptionists working both in-house and at-home, the 24-hour workshift is being covered to ensure your health record is up to date and ready to be implemented into the EMR (electronic medical record) system. I love my job and have been doing my job for 20+ years and hope to be doing it for another 20+ years. Even though technology is evolving, transcriptionists will be needed in one sense or another as it takes a human to see that "quality and accuracy" are the priorities that need to be met when it comes to medical documentation.
