I don’t fit into any particular group; I do what I feel and say what I think. I am a whole lot of science, mixed with a little granola goodness, seasoned with a pinch of activism and a dash of creativity.
The most influential part of my life today is my daughter, through her presence in my life I have learned and been exposed to so many unique ideas, concepts, and individuals. In the short time between the beginning of my pregnancy with her and now I have discovered I am a lactivist, natural childbirth activist, and most of all a proponent of informed parenting.I harbor a deep respect for the science of medicine in it’s purest sense but I am equally as distrustful of modern medicine as a profitable business directive. I believe medicine is to compliment the body’s natural ability to heal and maintain itself. I feel we have lost faith in our biology and control of what happens with our health and I strive to help encourage people to take an active role in their preventative and corrective care. I am open-minded to the ideas of alternative therapies and really wish both sides could respect each other for their function in the common goal, helping people.
