Former nurse, future social worker Hi, there! In a past life (i.e. up until earlier this year), I was a nurse, specializing in reproductive health/STDs. After several years, I realized that nursing wasn't a good fit for me, so now I'm working as an administrative assistant. I'm taking this time to settle on what I want to study in graduate school, though I'm leaning towards social work. I'd like to work with adults in a health care setting, either as a licensed clinical social worker helping clients with mental illness or in a hospital or hospice setting, helping clients cope with difficult diagnoses and prognoses.

I love all kinds of medicine. When I was a small child, I fantasized about becoming a transplant surgeon. While an undergrad, I saw myself as a health educator, and then later as a mental health care practitioner. I am one of the rare people who enjoys being a patient of a health care provider in a private setting or in a hospital because I see them as learning experiences.

I'd like to meet a man who also enjoys the healthcare setting, and whose interests outside work include movies, traveling, and some things with which I'm not familiar. I wouldn't want an intellectual identical twin! I have a thing for physicians, but I respect everyone who dedicates his or her life to helping others with their physical and mental health.
